About Jake Rambo
Jake has been married to the love of his life, Sharon, for 10 years. They have a son who attends a Charleston County public school and two young daughters.
Upon receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, Jake moved back home to Charleston where he became a 4th grade teacher for the Charleston County School District (CCSD).
While teaching, Jake attended graduate school at The Citadel and earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. Jake then became an assistant principal and a principal in the CCSD.
At his core, Jake believes that teachers need to be supported and encouraged to try new approaches and strategies to help students succeed. "Teaching is an art, not a science," he often says.
Jake has a strong history of advocating for what's best for students and teachers.
Jake was born and raised in Charleston where he also attended its public schools. He feels blessed to have had incredible teachers growing up that instilled in him a passion for education.
Jake wants to ensure that his own children and EVERY child, regardless of where he/she lives, has access to a quality public education, just like him.
In his current work for Construction Professionals Incorporated (CPI), he is responsible for recruiting and onboarding new, talented employees. He looks for young adults that have the same skills and attitudes with which he attempted to equip students and with which ALL students need to be readied in the CCSD.
Jake continues to be a strong advocate for quality public education in the community.
